For the record, when a CCXR is run on E85 it emits 135g/km, which is less than a Ford Ka 1.3. Run on full-fat petrol, the CCXR would emit 368g/km, which is about the same as a supercharged V8 petrol Range Rover.

This is a Table of fuel economy for a mazda 323 1600cc  4 cylinder using a white lightning flexfuelkit and a combination of fuels including E85 (85% alcohol), E10 (10% alcohol) and ULP ( regular unleaded petrol)

Acceleration: Three tests performed (1) elapsed time from a standstill to 60 mph at wide open throttle, loaded and unloaded; (2) elapsed time from 40 to 60 mph at wide open throttle (passing simulation); (3) elapsed time and maximum speed at a quarter mile. Values are the average of six measurements. Braking: Dry surface is concrete, wet surface is low friction Jennite pad. Minimum stopping distance from 62 mph on dry surface, and from 31 mph on wet surface with no wheels locked. Panic stops are minimum measured distance from 31 mph on wet and dry surfaces at maximum pedal pressure with no attempt to steer. Values are the average of six stops.

Driving a SAAB flex fuel car in England

I have decided the car is running lean.
The car has less power at low rpm and more power at higher rpm, above 3000.
The car goes up hill at low revs when cold better than hot: this is when the choke is on, and fuel mixture would be richer.
All the literature I have read is saying 30% extra fuel is required to make the correct A/F mixture.

I've noticed that the price of automotive fuel changes during the week, and that this has become so common it is accepted as normal.

However I thought that some discussion of this topic was warranted. Considering the price of fuel in general, anything that helps reduce our petrol bill is handy.
