A table of alcohol percentage in the fuel tank, showing changes as E85 is added to E10 and vice versa. Table also shows value of fuel, taking into account the difference in cost of E10 and E85.

E10 is 10% alcohol and 90% petrol
E85 is 85% alcohol and 15% petrol
What's in the tank is a blend of these fuels, depending on the type and ratio of fuel added.

Refer to first E85 line of table:

The tank was 1/4 full of E10, 41.8 litres of E85 was added -- so the tank now had 67% alcohol in it.
E10 was $1.65, E85 was $1.05 so the fuel in the tank is worth $1.19 per litre.

This is part of the table I am using to work out the litres per 100km and $ per 100 km for different blends of fuel.
