Hello Malcolm,
Thank you for your comment at FlexFuelKit.com.au You can purchase a kit from the company we represent being white lightning at the following website. whitelightning.com.au These people have the best unit on the market today. You will need a 4 cylinder kit with Nippon Denso connectors I believe, but you need to check this before you order. I’m interested in your particular car for conversion to E85 as I believe it will perform very well on this fuel, if I had a choice it is one of the cars I would chose for E85, a turbo would make it spectacular. To your advantage you have a vehicle that has a relatively high engine compression ratio (this is important to gain better efficiency out of ethanol). You see ethanol burns differently to petrol in a longer cooler burn. This gives a smoother power drive from the combustion. The key to getting the most out of E85 in a conventional petrol engine is insuring that the fuel air mix is right. We suggest that you change your stock air filter over to a cloth air filter which will increase the volume of air available to your engine. Finally the driving experience is different running on E85, as I mentioned the fuel burns differently and so is the power. Unlike petrol which if you kick the car by flooring the accelerator will make the leap into life, ethanol likes a little time to wind up, but once it’s the engine pass about 3,000 rpm the power keeps coming. It feels like a sling shot. It takes a little getting used to, but then once you have a feel for it that you only need to be lite on the peddle and the car responds powerfully and smoothly. Just out of interest where are you located, I assume you have a petrol station in your area that sells E85? We would defiantly like to know more about your interest in converting to E85; once you have purchased a kit we are here to answer any questions you have and to help you tune your car. Sincerely, The Team at FlexFuelKits.com.au |
